Julie A. Shumway joined Utah Valley University as the Associate Director of Development Services in June of 2011, overseeing the prospect research department; she brings 9 years of experience in fundraising, primarily in prospect research. Before joining UVU, she was the Asst. Director of Prospect Research at her alma mater, Utah State University, where she directed the prospect research team and was instrumental in the design and implementation of the university-wide prospect management system. Julie also held positions as assistant to the dean in the College of Science and assisted in the college’s fundraising efforts as a development assistant. She is the chapter president for the Association of Prospect Researchers for Advancement (Apra-UT). Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Science. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Kelly and their three children and 2 grandchildren. She enjoys music, theater, and working out at the gym.

Dan is currently a Development Officer for the Biology Department at the University of Utah. He coordinates all prospect management within the department as well as many other aspects of development and marketing. Previous to this position, Dan worked in prospect research for his Alma Mater, Utah Valley University. He has been an active member of APRA Utah since August 2012. Dan enjoys exploring Utah, dabbling in art and music, and spending time with his wife and dog.

Wendy Oliverson, a native of southern Idaho, has worked in the Advancement Services office at Utah State University since August 2006. She has experience as a biographical recorder, a gift processor and most recently as a research analyst. Her work experience prior to USU includes 12 years in retail and 3 years as a medical assistant. Wendy graduated in 1999 from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Human Development. She currently serves on the board of APRA Utah. In her spare time, she enjoys crafts, reading, and movies.
